Awwwwwwwwww....poor Russia...the rantings of a dying nation...... A nation who lets its senior citizens go hungry, doesn't give them a decent pension, kills off opposition politicians, attempts to influence elections (e.g. Ukraine), yet continues to develop nuclear weapons...

MOSCOW, March 14 (Itar-Tass) - Russia is going to use the rostrum of the United Nations Commission for Human Rights to draw the attention of the world community to the negative humanitarian situation in Latvia and Estonia, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated on Monday in connection with the opening of another session of the Commission in Geneva. The ministry said it would refer, specifically, to the discrimination of the authorities of countries against a non-titullar population in those countries.

“Russia will aim at the session to help remove elements of confrontation and ‘double standards’ so that the international community be able jointly to decide problems in the human rights area,” the ministry noted.

Russia’s priorities at the session include the nomination of typical draft resolutions on the subjects “Totality of the judicial system”, “hostage taking”, “arbitrarily stripping people of citizenship”, “impermissibility of certain kinds of practices leading to the heightening of contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related lack of tolerance.” Russia will also declare for the adoption of a balanced and stringent resolution on “Human rights and terrorism”.
