The Brits always seem to turn their noses down at us Americans. They often make comments in different ways about our tawdriness, lack of sophistication, etc. We Americans like to make fun of their national cuisine, their bad teeth. But no matter what side of the Atlantic, both of us love indulging in pure salaciousness a la Jerry Springer. The latest little bit is about Prince Charles and the rumor and accusation no one really knows, but which Buckingham Palace has vehemently denied beforehand.
In the words of the New York Times, "No one would say what the rumor was. Not the British newspapers, which were writing long, innuendo-laced articles about it. Not the television commentators, who were discussing it with acrobatic opacity."
Now the cat is making itself out of the bag. "The allegation (although no one has said so publicly) has to do with purported sexual contact between Prince Charles, the heir to the throne, and Michael Fawcett, one of his closest advisers." Wonder what that means (wink, wink, wink).
Whether its in the US or Britain, Jerry Springer SURELY Rules!
