DUH! The newest spin is that a Democratic investment group planning to start liberal radio network is close to purchasing radio stations in five major cities in the U.S.... I hate to rain on their parade, and I'd love to experience the diversity of their thoughts, but how much money are they willing to pour into it to keep it viable and up-and-running?. As someone who was involved in various phases with a Internet-based radio station and couldn't convince the folks in charge that they needed a solid marketing plan in order to attract advertising (duhhhhh!) in order to keep the electricity on, they are going to need RATINGS (people listening) in order to attract advertisers... Unfortunately the Democratic party hasn't quite figured it out that doesn't need to preach to the crowd, rather, they need to convince those who don't hold their opinions Holy in order to "make a difference" and to sway opinions. Al Gore tried to buy a cable TV network to do the same, but has run into roadblocks on this same front. Broadcasting costs money...we'll see how long it takes for these stations to try to air the King of Blustering, Rush Limbaugh in order to bring the money in! Just a thought....
